After the drums we continued with the rhythm guitar parts. This time we decided to record the DI-lines first and reamp everything later when done. We ended doing this mainly because it would save time and the place where we were recording was also used by other people, so you can’t setup the amp stack and leave it there for a week.

As you all know, guitars have a really big role in this music. On the new album we increased the speed more, a bit complexity and added a shitload of harmonies. You’ll know that it’s Inkvisitor playing, but there are a lot of new elements present. On this record Lauri also increased his solo parts and now there are approximately 50/50 division between the solos. That being said, there are still tracks that don’t have solo sections at all.

The guitars used were both Jesse’s. Lauri used Burny RLG-60 Les Paul (a Japanese Slash-tribute model) and Jesse used his loyal workhorse Grover Jackson RR Custom. Both guitars were loaded with Seymour Duncan Custom (SH-5) pickups. The guitars are a great combination together, the LP is a bit fatter sounding and the RR is more aggressive sounding axe.

Now the rhythm parts are completed and after the vocals we will record the solos and finally reamp everything through Jesse’s new Soldano clone. After that all recordings are done and we let Simo Pussinen to do his job on mixing and mastering!

Got something to say?
